CHS Freshman & Sophomore Students and Families are invited to our Portrait of a Virginia Graduate Program that has been rescheduled. This program will be in the CHS Cafeteria at 6 p.m. tomorrow night, Thursday, August 15. Those who attend will be entered into a drawing for door prizes! We look forward to see you there!

LCPS Teachers and Staff are eagerly preparing for the first day of school, Monday, August 19! Open House at all schools is Thursday, August 15 from 1-6 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!


All afternoon and evening activities for Lunenburg County School students and families are canceled due to impending weather issues. This includes the Profile of a Virginia Graduate Program at Central High School this evening.

The Charger Football Team will start practice on Thursday, August 1st at 9:00 a.m. at the Charger Fieldhouse. Prospective players must have a current VHSL Physical to participate.


There will be a Central Charger Football Parents' Informational Meeting held at CHS in room 104 at 7:00 p.m. on Monday July 29th. Only parents need to attend. Important forms will be given out.


Summer School and the Gifted Summer Exploration Program will close at 2:00 today, Thursday, June 20, due to the threat of severe storms this afternoon. Therefore buses will be dropping students off approximately 1 hour earlier than normal. Stay safe this afternoon.

It's the last week of school! Thursday, May 30th is the last day! LMS & CHS will close at 12 noon. KES & VES will close at 12:30 p.m. Enjoy the fun activities at school this week as you get ready for an awesome summer!

Just a reminder--Monday, May 27 schools will be closed for Memorial Day! Enjoy your time off and be safe. We will see you back at the regular time on Tuesday, May 28.

Thank you to the Lunenburg NAACP for stopping by the LCPS Central Office with donuts for our bus drivers in recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week!


It's Teacher Appreciation Week and Stacy Tingen with the Virginia Lottery stopped by to say "Thank you!" to our Teachers! He left special scratch off tickets for our teachers at all four school buildings. These tickets highlight the lottery's support of public education. On behalf of the Virginia Lottery, "Thank you for all that each of you do to help shape the futures of our children!"


The school year is coming to a close in just 14 days. Our efforts to reduce chronic absenteeism are looking good, so don't give up now! Keep coming to school every day! Many fun activities are planned towards the end of the year to recognize our students' hard work. Also, good luck on the rest of the SOL Tests!

Most of the testing is during the month of May, but 5th & 6th Grade Reading are on April 30th!
