RE: Facemasks
Lunenburg County Public Schools, in accordance with Governor Youngkin’s Executive Order, effective January 24, 2022, supports parental choice in regards to your student’s use of a facemask in school. Students should feel free to continue to wear facemasks while attending school and school functions. We understand there will be different views on this subject, and we request respect for one another during this time as we have seen previously.
Also, we encourage all students to continue with vaccinations and boosters as you and your child see necessary. We continue to use preventive steps such as hand-washing, cleaning, sanitizing, and social distancing. You should quarantine if you demonstrate any signs or symptoms of COVID or while waiting for COVID test results.
All students who use our transportation services (riding a bus or car) are required to wear masks while being transported to and from school. This is a Federal Law (Executive Order 13998) of which we have no control.
As new developments emerge regarding mask use in schools, those changes will be communicated to you. Your student’s health and education will always be at the forefront of Lunenburg County Public Schools. Thank you.
