What is CS Education Week?
Computer Science Education Week is held in recognition of the birthday of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Murray Hopper (December 9, 1906). The first Computer Science Education Week was launched by the Association of Computing Machinery of December 6-12, 2009. In July of 2013, the theme "Hour of Code" was born, and the initiative has inspired over 1 billion hours served with over 4500 events around the world.
What is the theme for CS Ed Week 2021?
This year's theme is CS is Everywhere (#CSEverywhere). Our secondary CTE teachers received classroom resources provided by Microsoft. These resources focus on lessons and reinforcement activities to highlight the impact computer science has on our careers and everyday lives.
Some of the resources include Minecraft Hour of Code 2021 and Teen Tech Live (largest virtual field trip on the planet).
