These awards honor the outstanding dedication and excellence of our staff and students across four categories — Administrator, Certified Employee, Classified Employee, and Student. Each winner was recognized at Monday night’s School Board meeting for their incredible contributions to our LCPS community. 💙💛

🏫 Administrator – Megan Martin, LMS Assistant Principal

Ms. Martin leads with heart, vision, and a “can-do” spirit! Always proactive and positive, she supports staff, students, and families with care and creativity. Whether it’s planning new student incentives, guiding teachers, or stepping in wherever needed, she’s the steady hand that helps LMS soar. Her leadership creates a culture of trust, teamwork, and joy in learning—truly the mark of an exceptional administrator!

🍎 Certified Employee – JuVarshia Ragsdale, VES Pre-K Teacher

Mrs. Ragsdale’s classroom radiates warmth, laughter, and a love for learning! Beloved by students and parents alike, she goes above and beyond to make every child feel valued and confident. Her leadership and dedication helped the VES Preschool Program earn the VQB5 “Excellence Honor Roll” for exceeding expectations—one of only three public school programs in our region to achieve this honor. Mrs. Ragsdale’s energy, creativity, and genuine care make her a shining example of early childhood excellence.

🔧 Classified Employees – LCPS Maintenance & Grounds Team

Please join us in applauding Pete Dolchan, Lewis Zava, Bernard Wilkerson, Jeff Shaffer, Scotty Hawthorne, and Sean Hawthorne!

This outstanding team is the backbone of our school division—maintaining 73 acres of property and 295,000 square feet of building space with skill, pride, and professionalism. From HVAC and plumbing to electrical work, carpentry, and daily maintenance, they handle every challenge with expertise and a positive attitude.

Their dedication ensures that students and staff have safe, clean, and comfortable environments to learn and work in every day. No task is too big or too small—they always step up, often behind the scenes, to keep our schools running smoothly. LCPS is truly grateful for their commitment, teamwork, and excellence!

🎓 Student – Jala Wilkerson, LMS 8th Grade

Jala shines both in the classroom and on the field! A high achiever with top English test scores, perfect attendance, and a strong work ethic, she sets the bar high for her peers. Jala balances academics and athletics with grace and determination, earning the respect of teachers and classmates alike. Her positive attitude and leadership make her a true role model—an Eagle who lifts others as she soars!
