LCPS Families and Staff: LCPS will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 26, due to weather conditions. At this time, tomorrow will be a Remote Learning Day. Staff should plan to work from home. Pending power outages, there may be a change, and if so an announcement will be made in the morning. LCPS Teachers will be available by email tomorrow between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. for students and parents who have questions or need extra support. Everyone, please stay safe and warm!

Parents and Guardians,
Due to a bus driver shortage caused by a flu outbreak and other staffing challenges, some student transportation routes may be impacted over the coming weeks.
Temporary changes may include:
🚍Students riding a different bus
🚍Buses doubling routes
🚍Longer ride times
🚍Earlier or later morning pick-ups
🚍Delayed afternoon drop-offs
We will notify families of any changes as soon as possible; however, in emergency situations, advance notice may not be possible.
If you know your child will need to ride a different bus or you plan to provide transportation, your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your patience and support as we work to keep our students safe.
Sincerely,
Lunenburg County Public Schools Transportation Department

Lunenburg County Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, December 8, 2025, due to impending winter weather. 12 month employees do not report. The Budget Hearing has been rescheduled for December 15, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. in room 104 at Central High School. The School Board Meeting has been rescheduled to December 15, 2025 in the cafeteria of Central High School.

This week, we join schools and communities across the nation in celebrating American Education Week, a tradition that began more than a century ago when the National Education Association and the American Legion came together after World War I to call for stronger public support for education. 🇺🇸 Their efforts led to the first observance in 1921, and today the week is co-sponsored by national education organizations dedicated to supporting students, staff, and schools. 🎓✨
Throughout the year, we’re proud to celebrate important recognition days for many of our team members—principals, administrative assistants, teachers, and more. ✏️ But we also know that some of our employees don’t have a dedicated day of appreciation, even though their work is just as essential to the success of our schools. 💼❤️
So during American Education Week, LCPS is shining a special spotlight on these staff members who work hard every day to support our students, ensuring that they receive the best education possible and have their needs met on every level. 🌟📘 From directors to coordinators to our superintendent and so many others, we are grateful for everything they do to lift up our students and strengthen our school community. 🙌💙
Thank you for helping us fulfill the vision that inspired American Education Week over 100 years ago. 💙📘
Together for Safe, Just & Equitable Schools. #aew2025

Tonight's School Board Meeting will still be held at CHS, but will be in the Cafeteria instead of Room 104.
