Kindergarten Registration Day is THIS Friday, March 3, 2023, at both elementary schools. If you have a child who will be 5 on or before September 30, 2023, make plans NOW to attend! If your child is a current LCPS Pre K student at either elementary school, you only have to provide proof of Lunenburg County residency, and our guidance counselors will be in touch over the summer if anything else is needed. This month’s focus is Honesty. One way to think about Honesty is “being truthful in what you say and do.” Practicing Honesty helps strengthen our relationships and reduce stress. Throughout the school, students will be developing skills like emotion regulation, positive self-talk, and stress-management.

Just a reminder that LCPS will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2023, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Schools will reopen at the regular time on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday!

📖📚LCPS Pre K Students will be receiving books that will be sent home monthly. This will start in January and continue for the remainder of the school year. This donation was made possible by QuickStart Tennis of Central Virginia (QCV). QCV raises funds to provide Scholastic books to send home with preschoolers in public schools in central and southside Virginia. Teachers will be sending home monthly books for the remainder of the school year with FUN activities for families to read and learn together.
Lunenburg County Public Schools’ goal, with the support of QCV, is to help build at-home libraries for young kids, foster a love of reading, and improve school readiness. The book of the month for January is "How To Catch a Gingerbread Man" by Adam Wallace and Andy Elkerton. Families are encouraged to read these books with their child and participate in these at-home activities. 📖📚
Thank you @quickstarttennisofcentralvirginia!

Character education this month is all about Perseverance. One way to think about Perseverance is “pushing yourself through challenges and obstacles.” We all experience challenges in our lives. We all have moments when we feel like we can’t do it or that we want to give up on a big task. It is important to develop tools that help us work through those challenges in order to grow in those moments instead of giving up. How might you practice Perseverance as a family this month? Throughout the school, students will be developing skills like focusing, organizing, and goal-setting.
