📖📚LCPS Pre K Students will be receiving books that will be sent home monthly. This will start in January and continue for the remainder of the school year. This donation was made possible by QuickStart Tennis of Central Virginia (QCV). QCV raises funds to provide Scholastic books to send home with preschoolers in public schools in central and southside Virginia. Teachers will be sending home monthly books for the remainder of the school year with FUN activities for families to read and learn together. Lunenburg County Public Schools’ goal, with the support of QCV, is to help build at-home libraries for young kids, foster a love of reading, and improve school readiness. The book of the month for January is "How To Catch a Gingerbread Man" by Adam Wallace and Andy Elkerton. Families are encouraged to read these books with their child and participate in these at-home activities. 📖📚 Thank you @quickstarttennisofcentralvirginia!

Character education this month is all about Perseverance. One way to think about Perseverance is “pushing yourself through challenges and obstacles.” We all experience challenges in our lives. We all have moments when we feel like we can’t do it or that we want to give up on a big task. It is important to develop tools that help us work through those challenges in order to grow in those moments instead of giving up. How might you practice Perseverance as a family this month? Throughout the school, students will be developing skills like focusing, organizing, and goal-setting.

It's Handwashing Awareness Week! Cleanliness is a major factor in preventing foodborne illness. One of the best ways to prevent the spread of any germs is by washing your hands regularly. With the Flu, RSV, and COVID going around, handwashing is a great preventative measure that can easily be followed. #handwashingawarenessweek

Good evening K.E.S. families. We have a few reminders about dismissal in the afternoons. Any changes in your child’s dismissal arrangements should be made prior to 2:00 each afternoon. Sending changes to school by your child in writing is the best way to ensure that all parties are notified. The front doors are locked at 3:00 each afternoon. Students picked up from the gym will be released starting at 3:25. Please stay in your vehicle and follow the traffic flow. Do not get out of your vehicle or park on the side of the street. We want to ensure the safety of everyone and appreciate your cooperation with this.
