We hope that you are doing well. We are sharing a letter from Dr. Sharon Stanislas, Division Superintendent, with important information about our instructional plans in the event of additional inclement weather closures. Please take a moment to review the letter here, as it explains how learning will continue at home if school is closed.
Thank you for your support, and please contact your child’s school if you have any questions.

Lunenburg County Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, December 8, 2025, due to impending winter weather. 12 month employees do not report. The Budget Hearing has been rescheduled for December 15, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. in room 104 at Central High School. The School Board Meeting has been rescheduled to December 15, 2025 in the cafeteria of Central High School.

This week, we join schools and communities across the nation in celebrating American Education Week, a tradition that began more than a century ago when the National Education Association and the American Legion came together after World War I to call for stronger public support for education. 🇺🇸 Their efforts led to the first observance in 1921, and today the week is co-sponsored by national education organizations dedicated to supporting students, staff, and schools. 🎓✨
Throughout the year, we’re proud to celebrate important recognition days for many of our team members—principals, administrative assistants, teachers, and more. ✏️ But we also know that some of our employees don’t have a dedicated day of appreciation, even though their work is just as essential to the success of our schools. 💼❤️
So during American Education Week, LCPS is shining a special spotlight on these staff members who work hard every day to support our students, ensuring that they receive the best education possible and have their needs met on every level. 🌟📘 From directors to coordinators to our superintendent and so many others, we are grateful for everything they do to lift up our students and strengthen our school community. 🙌💙
Thank you for helping us fulfill the vision that inspired American Education Week over 100 years ago. 💙📘
Together for Safe, Just & Equitable Schools. #aew2025

Tonight's School Board Meeting will still be held at CHS, but will be in the Cafeteria instead of Room 104.

Our culinary students had an unforgettable day on their very special production tour of the facility. We were honored to be their first-ever group to see the behind-the-scenes production, and the Richlands staff were the most gracious hosts!
The learning didn't stop there! Our students saw a fantastic, nontraditional career path in the food industry. After the tour, they earned a well-deserved scoop of creamery ice cream, enjoyed a beautiful hayride, and walked through the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin.
The day concluded with a picnic lunch (which the students prepared throughout the week!) on a lovely field. They even had time to run off some energy on the playground, playing games like Red Light, Green Light before heading back!
We are so proud of how well-mannered and respectful every single student was—so much that we have been invited back in the spring to milk the cows! Stay tuned!
