📚 September is Attendance Awareness Month! 🍎
Every school day matters! Regular attendance helps students stay on track academically, build strong relationships with teachers and classmates, and develop habits that will help them succeed in school and beyond.
We know families need time for appointments, travel, and family activities, and that’s why we created our School Breaks & Family Time calendar! 📅 The flyer below highlights holidays, school breaks, long weekends, early dismissal days, and other days when students are already out of school. Whenever possible, we encourage families to plan appointments and trips around these dates so students don’t have to miss valuable classroom time.
❤️ Family time matters. School attendance matters, too. By planning ahead, we can make room for both!
⭐ Be Present. Be Engaged. Every Day Counts!

📅❤️ SCHOOL BREAKS = FAMILY TIME! ❤️📅
We know life is busy! Between doctor and dentist appointments, family commitments, trips, and simply wanting some quality time together, there are plenty of things competing for space on the family calendar.
That’s why we’re sharing our 2026–2027 School Breaks & Family Time calendar! ⭐
Whenever possible, we encourage LCPS families to use school holidays, breaks, days off, long weekends, and early dismissal days to schedule necessary appointments, travel, and other family activities.
🏫 Why? Because school attendance MATTERS!
Every day at school is an important day of learning. When students miss school, even for excused reasons, they miss valuable instruction, classroom discussions, activities, and time with their teachers and classmates that can be difficult to make up.
Take a look at the dates below, save this flyer to your phone, and use it as you plan ahead for the year. 📲
❤️ Schedule appointments when school is already out when you can.
💙 Plan family trips around scheduled breaks.
❤️ Take advantage of those 3- and 4-day weekends for some extra family time.
💙 And when school is OPEN, let’s make being at school the priority!
Time together starts here, and student success starts with showing up! 🌟
