Recently, Mrs. Bayne’s Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow students took the ParaPro® Assessment at Central High School.  All of the students passed the exam and are now eligible to become a teacher’s aide or a substitute teacher in Lunenburg County while they are in college.  This assessment is a general aptitude test that is required in many states for paraprofessional certification. It also offers school districts an objective assessment of the applicant’s foundation of knowledge and skills.

Students enrolled in Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow course at Central High School have the opportunity to take the ParaPro® test.    The course is designed to foster student interest, understanding, and appreciation of the teaching profession and allows secondary students to explore careers in education. Students build a foundation for teaching; learn the history, structure and governance of teaching; apply professional teaching techniques in the classroom and field experience; and reflect on their teaching experiences.
